River Region Art Santa Shop

The Art Depot Gallery of the River Region Art Association is opening its Santa Shop on November 1st!

Our annual Santa Shop will be filled with Christmas items so that you can complete your shopping list. Our artists are busy making Christmas tree ornaments, holiday cards, holiday home decor, jewelry, unique gift items, and much more!  Children are always welcome at the Gallery, so have them join you as you shop.

The Santa Shop be open from November 1 – Dec 31 during our regular store hours: (Wed-Sat  11-4:30  and  Sunday  12-4:00).   Plan to visit our Santa Shop at the Art Depot Gallery in Gonzales. Holiday Art Camp

November HOLIDAY ART Camp for Kids

Something creative for your children to do during the Thanksgiving Holidays!

The Depot Gallery of the River Region Art Association will hold a Holiday Camp during the Thanksgiving Holiday week for kids ages 6 to 15. Classes are held from 9 am to noon at the Depot Gallery, 320 East Ascension St., Suite C, Gonzales, LA. Each day will be a different hands-on artistic project led by one of our Depot Gallery Artists! Monday, November 19th, “Pumpkin Wall Plaque”, Tuesday, November 20th, “Drawing Objects of Autumn”, Wednesday, November 21st, Merry Painted Ornaments”, Friday, November 23, “Wooden Christmas Tree Wall Hanging”.

Camp Days: November 19, 20, 21 and 23. Choose one day or the entire four days. Camp Fee: The entire four days – $80, per day $22. Registration is limited, so go to our website to get the Holiday Camp Registration form. Forms can also be picked up at the Depot Gallery during our hours of operation, Wednesday through Saturday 11 am to 4:30 pm and Sunday, 12 noon to 4 pm.

JFA Christmas Parade

Join is for the Annual JFA Christmas Parade at 1:00pm December 9th in Gonzales. The parade featuresbands, marching groups and floats by school clubs, Scouts, church, nonprofits and businesses.

NEW ROUTE

THE PARADE PARTICIPANTS WILL LINE UP ON IRMA BOULEVARD IN THE DIRECTION OF CORNERVIEW ROAD. THE PARADE LINE UP WILL CONTINUE TO GO DOWN IRMA BOULEVARD AND TAKE A LEFT ONTO CORNERVIEW ROAD, TRAVEL ON UP TO BURNSIDE AVENUE AND TAKE A LEFT ON BURNSIDE AVENUE AND TRAVEL TO EAST BANK SHOPPING CENTER WHERE THE PARADE WILL END.

Plans are for Irma Boulevard to be closed off completely at Cornerview Road and Worthy Road with drop offs at East Ascension High School. Floats will enter the line up from Worthy Road onto Irma Boulevard as directed by parade committee members.

Further information in regards to the line up of parade participants, i.e., floats, bands and organizations will be forthcoming from the Gonzales JFA Christmas Parade Committee. We hope you will join us for our annual parade on December 9, 2018 at 1PM.

Louisiana Sportsman Show

Show Hours: 12 to 7 p.m. – Thursday & Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Saturday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Sunday.

The 40th Annual Louisiana Sportsman Show and Festival, Louisiana’s largest outdoor show and boat show, will be held March 14-17, 2019, at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, Louisiana. Louisiana’s premier outdoor show will feature acres of boats, fishing and hunting equipment, ATVs, tractors and lawn equipment, and activities for the entire family.

Show highlights include:

  • an indoor boat show featuring all the major boat brands and dealers from throughout the Baton Rouge area
  • acres of fishing tackle and hunting gear for sale
  • an extensive display of ATVs and off-road vehicles
  • a dedicated tractor and outdoor power equipment area
  • the Louisiana Sportsman Big Buck Contest, with display of some of the largest bucks killed during the 2017-18 season in Louisiana, Mississippi and across the country
  • Splash Dogs, where participants can enter their dogs in retriever competitions
  • a Kids Zone, with free admission to the show for kids on Sunday
  • a bass tank, where pros will be giving regular seminars
  • fishing and hunting outfitters from across the United States
  • an improved food court featuring three times the selection
