The 4th annual Home & Remodeling Show with Ralph’s Markets Food Fest

The Home and Remodeling Show and Ralph’s Markets Food Fest is coming to the Lamar Dixon Expo Center (Exhibition Hall) January 26th & 27th.  The show will be open Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-5.  You can find admission coupons in the Advocate, The Weekly Citizen, Marketeer, and online.  Regular admission is 6.00 for adults, children 12 and under free.  Spend $25 dollars at any Ralph’s Market location starting January 5th – January 26th and receive two free tickets to the show.

The Home and Remodeling Show is the only Home & Garden Show in the Greater Baton Rouge area.  This highly anticipated event will feature the very best products and services for everything in your home, inside and out.  Innovative new products and ideas for everything in your home, the latest in kitchens, bathrooms, remodeling, siding, and more.  Shop and compare the right products and the best prices for all your home improvement needs.  Find everything you need to turn your house into your dream home!

Chef Joshua Hebert and Chef Adam Reeson invite you to a special chef’s table showcasing some of the new and exciting menu items and pairings that are available at Bernadette’s Table for private events and chef’s tables. We also feature menu items like these each and every day at The Cabin Restaurant to go along with our traditions that have been pleasing our guests since 1973!

Berndette’s Table and the chefs will bring a much needed experience to Ascension Parish that showcases new and fresh interpretations of our rich traditions here and from across the entire Southern region in a beautiful space with the best Southern hospitality you’ll ever experience. We hope to offer regular dinner service and brunches on select days in the future as well. Please join Chef Joshua, Chef Adam and their team as we eat, drink, and celebrate together!

Ticket purchase covers food and pairings for supper. Cocktails and select wines will be available for purchase beginning at 6:00 PM and throughout the event.

Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

It’s that time of year again!  We are currently preparing for the 2018 Polar Plunge  to benefit Special Olympics Louisiana.  Each year, this is one of the biggest fundraisers throughout the state for Special Olympics.  With your help we are hopeful that 2016 will be our best year yet.  Please consider participating, donating your time, or even a monetary donation to the jumper of your choice.

Each year, your efforts help to ensure and promote inclusion, fair play, understanding, and acceptance for thousands of individuals with intellectual disabilities.  There is still much work to be done, as still thousands more are left without these opportunities due to lack of funding.

Show Hours: 12 to 7 p.m. – Thursday & Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Saturday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Sunday.

The 40th Annual Louisiana Sportsman Show and Festival, Louisiana’s largest outdoor show and boat show, will be held March 14-17, 2019, at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, Louisiana. Louisiana’s premier outdoor show will feature acres of boats, fishing and hunting equipment, ATVs, tractors and lawn equipment, and activities for the entire family.

Show highlights include:

  • an indoor boat show featuring all the major boat brands and dealers from throughout the Baton Rouge area
  • acres of fishing tackle and hunting gear for sale
  • an extensive display of ATVs and off-road vehicles
  • a dedicated tractor and outdoor power equipment area
  • the Louisiana Sportsman Big Buck Contest, with display of some of the largest bucks killed during the 2017-18 season in Louisiana, Mississippi and across the country
