JFA Christmas Parade

The parade will roll through the City of Gonzales beginning promptly at 1 PM.

The 2017 JFA Christmas Parade with the theme, “Louisiana Christmas”

The parade route will begin along Worthy Road and continue down Burnside Ave. ending before Airline Highway.

Parade celebrations will showcase a wide variety of decorated floats featuring several Parish dignitaries, Christmas music, local elementary and high school bands, dance teams, and the 2017 Jambalaya Queen.

JFA President, Wally Taillon, along with Parade Committee Members is excited to announce the Grand Marshal for the 2017 Christmas Parade will be long time JFA member Mr. Frank Frederic.

He was President of the JFA in 1984 and 1992.  He was also crowned Jambalaya Festival King in 1987 and is also a past recipient of the Nora Lee Ricca Award.  He remains an active member of the festival today, volunteering at the festival each year.

Houmas House Plantation and Gardens serves as the magnificent holiday back-drop for this family event.  The decorations and festivities are abundant during the Christmas Season in this historic setting.  Arrive early and stroll through the gardens, and make a dinner reservation for after the concert.  Join Associate Conductor David Torns and the BRSO Brass, Percussion and Harp as they perform all of your holiday favorites.

 

Note: this event is performed outside, subject to the weather permitting.
