Adult Art Classes


River Region Art Association is offering Adult Art Classes held on Saturdays during the month of July. Those interested in learning the techniques of painting will be guided by well-known local artist, Peg Carbo. Peg has a love of the nature around her and paints Louisiana swamps scenes that are filled with details and capture the essence of nature. Look closely at her work and you will see animals and details that enhance the scenes. All levels of artistic ability are welcome in this 4-week long class. Students will be painting with acrylic paint on a stretched canvas. Your finished painting will be ready to show off to friends and family.

Class Days: July 7, 12, and August 4, 11

Class Fee: $125 this includes the materials for the class

Dancing for a Cause

Where: Lamar Dixon Expo Center at 7:00pm

The Arc of East Ascension’s premier annual fundraising event, modeled after the hit ABC show, helps fund activities, housing, job training,and educational programs in Gonzales, LA. The Arc of East Ascension a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; tax-deductible receipts are available for qualifying donations.

The event showcases community leaders and prominent citizens of the Ascension Parish and surrounding area, as they transform into Star Dancers to present live ballroom performances with their professional dance partners at the Lamar Dixon 4-H Building located at 931 St. Landry Rd. Gonzales, LA.
